PIA-DLC Coating
PIA-DLC Coating
By exposing parts to plasma and applying a negative pulse voltage to them, carbon ions can be injected, allowing for uniform coating of high-density thick-film DLC on three-dimensional shaped parts at room temperature. The characteristics of PIA-DLC, such as wear resistance, sliding properties, release properties, corrosion resistance, and gas barrier properties, can also be imparted to non-metal materials like aluminum, rubber, and resin. PIA-DLC coating has gained attention for enabling surface modification at room temperature using quantum beam (ion, electron, light) technology, which was traditionally done at high temperatures. It is now possible to coat non-ferrous metals (such as aluminum and nickel), rubber, and resin with high-density DLC at room temperature, which was previously impossible. As an alternative technology that surpasses the performance of plating, we offer high-functionality, high-adhesion, low-cost DLC at room temperature as a foundational technology for manufacturing. The coating that forms high-hardness nano-diamond crystals (ND-DLC), which is twice as hard as conventional DLC, is also available, and it is possible to create DLC coatings with conductivity, whereas traditional DLC is an insulator.
